After the hype of Nike Breaking 2 project they have released the first consumer version of the now famous Zoomfly Vaporfly shoe. I’ve waited to purchase these shoes as I was intrigued to see what all the fuss was about… I also liked the look and design of them.
The shoe it’s self are made with full length carbon- infused nylon plate within the midsole which aims to propel you forwards. Lunarlon cushioning provides the balance to assist with stability and response. They offer a 10mm offset and weigh 248g. Quick Review— I had a short EZ run to do so ideal to see how they fit and feel. They felt strange on your feet for the first minute or so as they do try to make you walk on your toes.
Once running they felt extremely comfortable and immediately I could tell I was going to love them. They feel as supportive as a Pegasus but give you this urge to run quick. I held back knowing I’d test the response to pace the next day. 4 miles done and a massive ?? So into a small session which would include some 5k pace efforts so a good chance to see how responsive they were and how they felt running at speed! They didn’t let me down they felt as good if not better than some of the other racing flats I’ve used (streak 6’s, Streak LT’s, Flynit Racer’s). Size/Fit – they’re a snug fit I bought a 12 which is what wear in Pegasus and fly it racer.
Price tag – £125
I’ll post another detailed review after some more time on my feet in them.
