Making your own pizza is easier than you may think and really fun to do. Toppings can be adapted to provide more protein or veggies, depending on your requirements. The nutritional information is based on 1 chicken breast between 2 pizzas.

INGREDIENTS

300 g strong bread flour, 1 tsp instant yeast, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp olive oil, 100 ml tomato passata, handful fresh basil, 1 garlic clove, handful chosen vegetables (peppers, mushrooms, olives, rocket, courgette), handful cooked meat,1 tbsp grated cheese.

PREPARATION

Pizza Base:

  1. 300 g strong bread flour
  2. 1 tsp instant yeast (from a sachet)
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1 tbsp olive oil

Tomato Sauce:

  1. 100 mL tomato passata
  2. Handful of fresh basil
  3. 1 garlic clove (crushed)

Base:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees
  2. Measure the flour into a large bowl and stir in the yeast and salt
  3. Pour 200 mL warm water and the olive oil and stir in with a wooden spoon (ADD THE WATER GRADUALLY)
  4. 11.Empty the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 min until smooth
  5. Leave to rise for 20 min before rolling out

Tomato Sauce Mix the passata, basil and garlic together and season

Pizza:

13. Split the dough into two balls

14. Roll out each ball into large round circles — roll it out thin as it will rise in the oven

15. Add the tomato sauce, followed by sliced vegetables, cooked meats/fish and finally grated cheese

16. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the base is crisp and salad and serve with a side.
